Union Bank will buy parent of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust : SBB&T will become a unit of Japanese conglomerate Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ

Santa Barbara Bank & Trust's 47 branches are expected to become Union Bank branches by year's end.

  • Andy Samarasena has been named assistant vice president and client relationship manager at Santa Barbara Bank & Trust's Lompoc main office. Mr. Samarasena, who has more than 17 years of banking experience, previously worked for Bank of America and Mid-State Bank & Trust. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and a diploma in management and supervision from UCSB.
