The UCSB women's basketball team is going back to the Big Dance.
Jessica Wilson had 16 points to lead UCSB back to the NCAA tournament with a 74-59 victory against UC Davis in the Big West Conference tournament championship game Saturday at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Wilson, the conference player of the year, was named the tournament MVP. She also had seven rebounds.
Whitney Warren scored 12 points and Sha?Rae Gibbons added 13 for the top-seeded Gauchos (23-7), who were making their 12th consecutive appearance in the Big West tournament title game.
Santa Barbara thwarted the attempt by second-seeded Davis to reach the NCAA tournament in its first season in Division I and the conference. The Aggies played in the Division II championships in 1999.
All-Big West first-team selection Jessica Campbell had 25 points for Davis (19-11), the only team to beat Santa Barbara during league play.
Santa Barbara has won 19 of its last 20 games, with its loss coming to Davis in overtime.
