  • Arrr, matey, fetch me some kibble or ye'll have to walk the plank," says Big Boy, left, who got all pirated-up for Halloween. But the 6-year-old golden retriever isn't much of a rogue -- he has the sweet disposition of an angel, which happens to be another one of his doggy ensembles, complete with feathery wings and a halo. The 10-year-old purebred loves to dress up when he goes on walks and to play ball with his parents, Thomas and Sheila Lambert of Santa Barbara. At top right, Laura Su snatches a few moments of solitude in the sunlight, something of a rarity for the 6-year-old Siamese, who shares a home with two pooches. "She hightails it out as fast as she can when she hears them coming," says her owner, Pat Meier of Santa Barbara. The affectionate kitty is Ms. Meier's "best buddy" and curls up with her in bed every night. Four-month-old Spankie, bottom right, is busy reflecting on life after school. A recent graduate of the Perfect Puppy Academy, the little guy likes to jump through hula hoops. His proud parents are Ida and Frank Lick of Montecito.
