Roger & Jacqueline Vanderlaan

50th Anniversary

Rog said to Jackie, "If you marry me, you?ll never have a dull life," and he was right! Married in Decatur, Illinois on March 10th, 1963, they moved to the Santa Barbara area in 1970 and raised their seven children in Goleta. Rog retired after 30 years as an insurance agent and later owned a wholesale toy business. Jackie retired in 1992 from UCSB and then became the President of the non-profit organization Job Smart from 1996-2004. She is now an artist and sometimes works at Portico Gallery in Montecito. Today, they are both retired and are blessed to enjoy their ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Yes, a 50 year adventure and it doesn?t stop there: Next stop on their world-wide excursions, Costa Rica.
