Robert & Myrna Pearce 60th Wedding Anniversary
June, 30, 1953
The family of Bob and Myrna Pearce is proud to announce that today is their 60th wedding anniversary. The story of how their romance began goes back to the early 1950's when Bob started dating Myrna's sister and roommate Carol. Myrna took an interest in Bob and negotiated a hard bargain with her sister to get a date with him. Myrna traded Carol her favorite cashmere sweater in exchange for a date with Bob. They fell in love and so began their journey together. The wedding of Robert Dean Pearce to Myrna Lee Sansregret took place in Bellingham, Washington at the St. James Presbyterian church in Fairhaven. Included among those in attendance were Bob's parents, Dorothy and Earl Hollingsworth as well as his brother Keith. Myrna's family included her parents, Arnold and Fannie Sansregret, her brother Norm and her grandparents Adrian and Fannie Van Cruyningen. The newlyweds honeymooned in Vancouver, BC.
The young couple started a family in Seattle and finally settled down to raise their children, Greg, Gary and Lindy, in Santa Barbara where they lived for over 30 years. Bob and Myrna are in town this week from their home in Escondido, CA to celebrate with family and friends.
60 years later, the cashmere sweater is long gone but Bob and Myrna have shared a lifetime of love and happiness. Congratulations Mom and Dad, we love you!
