On June 8, 2013, Dave Hardy and Peggy Buchanan chose the back yard garden of their home in Santa Barbara to celebrate their marriage with an intimate group of close family and friends. Officiating the ceremony was Paul Weinberger of Laguna Hills, Mr. Hardy's close friend of 40 years. Also in attendance and speaking at the ceremony was Santa Barbara Mayor Pro Tem Randy Rowse, who read a proclamation declaring June 8, forever more as Dave & Peggy Day.
The bride is a former resident of Thousand Oaks, California who moved to Santa Barbara in 2010. She is presently employed at the Beachside Bar-Café.
The Groom is a former Gaucho who made Santa Barbara his home. He is the owner of the Beachside Bar-Café at Goleta Beach with his partner, Larry Stone who was also in attendance. Beachside Bar-Café has been serving the communities of Goleta and Santa Barbara since 1985.
The attendants for the wedding were the couple's grandchildren. Master Luca Olivera, age 17 months who was wheeled in a decorated wagon by Miss Quinn Clow, age 9 and followed by Miss Lily Olivera, age 3 1/2. The Bride's grandson, Donovan Clow escorted her down the isle.
The couple's children were also in attendance. Det Hardy of Santa Barbara, Hilary Olivera of Honolulu, Erin Clow of Ventura and Brynne Buchanan of Honolulu.
The event began with a pre-ceremony cocktail hour followed by a twilight reception and dinner thanks to the professional assistance of Mark Okinaka, Carlos Ramirez, and Peter Crick.
