VALENZUELA Sr., Lawrence Raymond

Passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday March 2, 2013. Larry was born on September 5, 1920 in Santa Barbara California to Frank and Concepcion Valenzuela. He was a resident of Ventura and Santa Barbara for most of his 92 years. Larry was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty, his beloved children Stephen, Richard and Donna. He is survived by daughter Deborah (Dana) Versola, Son Larry Jr. (Sherleen) Valenzuela and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

He fought in World War II and Korea, served in the California National Guard, worked as automobile service mechanic and led a prison ministry in the Ventura County Jail. He was devoted to his family and passionate about Jesus, reading and cookies. He will be deeply missed but we are joyful in knowing he is home with the Lord.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 6th at 3:00 p.m. at Charles Carroll Funeral Home located at 15 Teloma Drive, Ventura, California 93003.
