Passed away peacefully on September 4, 2013 at the age of 81.
Stan is lovingly remembered by his wife Shirley of 59 years. They were married in Cleveland Ohio before moving to Los Angeles. Stan and Shirley have four children Laura, Sharon, Jack and John and four grandsons Matt, James, Michael and Stephen.
Stan was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 14, 1932. He graduated from Fenn College in 1953 with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics. He and his wife moved to Los Angeles in 1955 where he went on to earn a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from USC in 1957. He began his career at Hughes Aircraft Company in Culver City, before moving to Santa Barbara in 1979 to take a position at SBRC. Stan retired from SBRC in 1989.
Stan's biggest hobby after retirement was working at his son's machine shop. He spent countless hours fixing machines and programming systems, thus he never really retired and that's the way he wanted it. He also loved spending time at home with his wife and family enjoying the natural habitat his backyard provided.
Stan and his family are very appreciative of the excellent care and compassion shown by the staff of Cottage Hospital and Sansum Clinic.
As per Stan's wishes there are no services.
