Peter was born on January 20, 1962, in Glendale, CA to Edward and Rosa Steiner. Was raised is Santa Barbara and City College and graduated from their distinguished School of Culinary Arts.
His Culinary Cooking experiences took him around the world to: Bern, Switzerland; Tokyo, Japan; Germany; Santa Barbara; and San Diego. His cooking allowed him to work with Julia Childs on her cooking show, where he enjoyed her culinary enthusiasm.
He sincerely loved the outdoors, everything from hunting and hiking in his back yard of San Diego to backpacking, fishing, and skiing in the Sierras with his friends and family. At ports of call he enjoyed riding his bike, scuba diving seeking new adventures and making friends.
His love for the ocean took him all the way from cooking on sport fishing boats to earning a captains license and working for Scripps Institution of Oceanography as an Able Body Seaman on the R/V Roger Revelle.
He was kind hearted and ready to help where needed, and lived life to the fullest.
We will greatly miss his humorous stories of epic adventures from Alaska to Antarctica.
