Columnist Maureen Dowd blames Republicans for "again willing to tear at the fabric of the country on issues of 9/11 and national security to trample the Democrats.''

I hope the American people do not consider the objection to a mosque near the 9/11 site as "tearing down the fabric of the nation'' or our "security.''

Since it's tradition for mosques to be built on conquered ground,
