Obituaries

Paid obituary articles are published daily in the Santa Barbara News-Press and on newspress.com. Text can be submitted by email to obits@newspress.com, faxed to (805) 966-1421 (if only text), or brought in to our De La Guerra Plaza office. Please include: name, address and contact phone number.

*The deadline for Tuesday-Friday's edition is 12 noon the previous day; Saturday, Sunday and Monday's edition deadline is 4 p.m. on Thursday.

All obituaries must be approved and prepaid by deadline. We accept all major credit cards by phone. Check or cash can also be brought into our office.

The cost is approximately $6.00/per line daily, Mon-Sat; $6.35 per line for Sunday. A line consists of approximately 60-75 characters, which include spaces & punctuation without a photo and 40-55 characters with a photo. Photos can be submitted digitally (jpeg format/at least 200 dpi) or an original can be brought into our office for scanning. For further information, please call 564-5249.

Free Death Notices must be submitted by the Mortuary. The News-Press can not accept Death Notices from individuals. To inquire the run date of your Death Notice email: swaggener@newspress.com.

HUNT, Elsie
Of Montecito passed away on Mother's Day, May 12, 2013. Elsie was born on May 1, 1921 in Boston, the daughter of John Emmons Wheeler and Kathleen Page Wheeler. She had two sisters, Margaret (nicknamed Peggy) and Helen. The family moved to Santa Barbara when Elsie was 4. She attended the Santa Barbara Girls School, where she was very active and social. LLOYD, Jr., Franklin Thomas
Tom passed away at age 72 in New York with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born in Santa Barbara, CA, to Franklin Thomas Lloyd, Sr., and Florence Olive Crookham Lloyd. He attended local schools and graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1958. A graduate of the 1962 class of University of California Santa Barbara, he served as Student Body President and President of the University of California Statewide Associated Students in his senior year. DOLAGHAN, Elizabeth "Betty"
(81) passed away on May 10, 2013. She was born in Belfast, Ireland to Stewart and Mary Connolly. Betty married Tom Dolaghan in 1951 and together they moved to Los Angeles. They moved their family to Arizona in 1963, and worked on the Navajo reservation for 33 years. Betty moved to Santa Barbara after Tom's death in 1994.
