The Santa Barbara News-Press invites you to participate in the upcoming Career Fair. It's a recruitment and Job enhancement event featuring:

  • Face to face interaction between employers and job seekers
  • Job search seminars
  • Resume collection opportunity for employers
  • College and professional school recruitment

Hours: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
All booths must be manned during Career Fair hours.
Location: Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort located at 633 E. Cabrillo Blvd. (see map for driving directions)

Attendance: 200-300

Box Lunches

For the convenience of those manning booths through the lunch hour, the Santa Barbara News-Press will have box lunches available. The number of lunches requested on the contract will be provided. If additional lunches are needed please call (805) 564-5197 by October 13th, 2006.

CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING DEMOGRAPHICS

Newspaper classified advertising is still the number-one way to attract new employees. Check out these demographics:

  • 83 percent of people turn to daily or Sunday newspapers when they are looking for a job.
  • 69 percent of adults cite newspapers as their main source for employment information.
  • Nearly three-quarters of adults read a newspaper classified section.
  • 72 percent of the public say they are highly satisfied with newspaper advertising for job opportunities.
  • When people job-hunt online, 43 percent use daily newspaper sites as their primary source of online classifieds.
  • Of the nearly 50,000 Santa Barbara News-Press readers, 55 percent read the classified ads.
  • More than 55 percent of people ages 18-34 read the classifieds.
  • Classified advertising reaches educated employees: 58 percent of Santa Barbara News-Press readers who read the classifieds are high school graduates and 55 percent are college graduates.
