Age: 36
Born: Dec. 7, 1959
Killed: Jan. 31, 1995
Hometown: Santa Barbara
Life: Frank wanted to get back to retail work
in either sports or books. He loved both and had extensive experience
at places like Outfooters and Barnes and Nobles. And he hoped to
find someone and eventually have a family. Frank grew up in a house
on Canon Perdido Street. He attended Dolores Catholic Elementary
School, now Notre Dame, and later went to Bishop Garcia Diego, finishing
at Santa Barbara High School. Frank attended Westmont College where
he ran track. He also coached the cross country and track teams
at Santa Barbara High School, leading them to a national championship.
He admired his older brother who is a police officer and loved big
family gatherings. Frank would have been 43 years old this year.
Death: Frank decided at the last minute to go
out and meet a friend who owed him money rather than stay at home
with his parents the night of Jan. 31, 1995. He met his friend at
Mel's and then visited a neighbor who tended bar at The Pub. Frank
was last seen leaving the bar with a gray-haired man in his 50s
about 9 p.m. Shortly after midnight, he was found stabbed to death
behind the ticket office of the Santa Barbara Bowl. Police suspect
this to be the work of a serial killer.
