Born: May 24, 1960
Killed: April 28, 1985
Hometown: Palm Springs

Life: Kym aspired to be a fashion photographer. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, where she worked as an assistant to famed photographer Irving Penn. She also attended North Hollywood and Pierce community colleges. Kym was enrolled at Brooks Institute of Photography at the time of her death. Her work focused on portraits of people. She played the piano, French horn and flute. She loved to dance at clubs with her friends, especially to the Rolling Stones. Kym was close to her older sister Julie and frequently visited her parents in Palm Springs. They say she had a great sense of humor. She loved taking family trips in the Winnebago. Kym would have been 42 years old this year.

Death: Kym placed an ad in the News-Press seeking a room in exchange for light household chores. A man responded to the ad April 28, 1985, and asked Kym to meet him at the Santa Cruz Market, now Lazy Acres. That's the last time she was seen alive. Her car was found the next day in the parking lot. On May 2, 1985, a man collecting cans off East Camino Cielo discovered her dismembered body. Police suspect this to be the work of a serial killer.
