Year-to-date donations
The News-Press Holiday Fund was established in 1949 by former News-Press owner Thomas Storke, who was shocked at the cost of a wheelchair after he broke his leg. Since then, the Holiday Fund has brought in more than $2 million from individuals, local groups, companies and foundations.
Throughout the holiday season, the News-Press periodically publishes the names of donors to the fund, which, this year, benefits RESQCATS and Unity Shoppe.
As of Monday, this year's donations totalled $59,455.
Contributions may be mailed to: News-Press Holiday Fund, P.O. Box 1359, Santa Barbara 93102-1359.
For more information on RESQCATS, contact Jeffyne Telson at 563-9424 or log on to www.resqcats.org.
