One person was killed after a crash on Highway 166 on Friday.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department, alongside Los Padres National Forest San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria’s fire personnel, responded to a single-vehicle crash near Willow Springs.

The vehicle had gone over the side of the highway and dropped about 200 feet. The individual was found dead at the scene.

There is still an ongoing search for whether there were additional individuals in the vehicle.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
