A vegetation fire is burning on the 1200 block of North San Marcos Road in Santa Barbara County.

The fire broke out about 7:45 p.m., according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Multiple units are on scene and actively accessing the fire, according to a statement on X from county fire. The fire had quickly burned about two acres.

“The public is advised to avoid the area. Further information will be updated here as it becomes available,” the message states.

An update on the fire about 8:26 p.m. stated that forward progress had been stopped.
