The motorcyclist killed in a crash on Highway 101 Monday was a 22-year-old Goleta man who recently graduated from UCSB.
Dylan Monson died after he was ejected from his motorcycle in a multivehicle on the Highway 101 near the Glen Annie exit, Monday afternoon.
Friends identified Monson as a recent graduate of UC Santa Barbara, and have come out in support of him on social media.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was driving a red 2015 BMW motorcycle and splitting lanes at a high speed.
The crash involved a motorcycle and two vehicles. The rider was fully ejected from the motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail. AMR declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. It’s unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, according to the CHP.
