As I round the corner on my fourth year of service on the Goleta Union School District Board of Trustees, I’m excited to share that I am running for re-election this November!
Serving on the Goleta School Board has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. At GUSD, we serve approximately 3,400 elementary school students across nine school sites in Goleta, Isla Vista, and the unincorporated Goleta Valley. These are formative years—from transitional kindergarten through sixth grade—and the decisions we make have a lasting impact on our students, families, educators, and community.
When I first ran in 2022, I promised to support the unique learning needs of our students, advance equity, invest in the wellness of youth and families, and support our hardworking educators and staff. Over the past four years, I have worked with my colleagues to make progress on those priorities. This year, I am honored to lead these efforts as Board President.
Looking ahead, I will continue working to help every student make meaningful progress in literacy and math, build up the District’s budget reserve to ensure financial stability, ensure our schools are safe and inclusive, and support the people who serve our students every day.
