The Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic (SYTHC) will host its Community Resource Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at the Tribal Hall on the Santa Ynez Reservation. The free event is open to the public and will feature wellness resources, nutrition information, family activities, raffle prizes, food trucks and more.
The fair is designed to increase awareness of the many health, social service and community resources available throughout Santa Barbara County. By bringing organizations and service providers together in one location, the event aims to help individuals and families connect with programs and information that support their health and well-being
More than 40 organizations and community partners are expected to participate. Attendees will have access to resources and information from agencies representing health care, public safety, family services, senior services, caregiving support, health insurance, child advocacy, regional services and community wellness programs. Participating organizations include the American Red Cross, California Highway Patrol, CASA of Santa Barbara County, CenCal Health, Community Health Centers of the Central Coast, Covered California, Family Service Agency of Santa Barbara County, Tri-Counties Regional Center and many others.
The event will include a free blood donation opportunity and a variety of health-related educational resources. SYTHC medical and dental teams will host informational booths and be available to share information about available services. All activities are walk-in, and no appointments are required.
“The Community Resource Health Fair is more than an outreach event,” said Rita Gonsalves, Executive Director for the Santa Ynez Tribal Health Clinic. “It is an opportunity to strengthen connections with our tribal community and the broader community, promote wellness, and ensure that individuals and families know where to turn for health care and support. By bringing resources together in one place, we make it easier for community members to access services that can have a lasting impact on their health and well-being. Events like these help foster relationships, increase awareness of available resources, and reinforce our commitment to building a healthier, more connected community for everyone we serve.”
Community members will have the opportunity to learn about local services, gather health and wellness information, and connect directly with organizations serving residents across Santa Barbara County.
In addition to health information and community resources, guests can enjoy family-friendly activities, food trucks, raffle prizes and opportunities to connect directly with local organizations and service providers.

SYTHC accommodates more than 26,000 patient visits per year with an active patient population of over 9,200 and employs 68 team members.
SYTHC is located on the Santa Ynez Reservation at 90 Via Juana Lane in Santa Ynez. The staff specializes in the highest standards of quality health care through modern medicine and cultural traditions. While the clinic’s comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services are available to Chumash Community Members, the clinic also treats non-native patients of diverse ethnic backgrounds with unique needs. The facility accepts Medicare, Medi-Cal and most major insurance plans.
The clinic is a not-for-profit organization under the Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) guidelines and receives funding through various grants, including grants from the Indian Health Services (IHS). The clinic has achieved mature contractor status with IHS and the Bureau of Indian Affairs and is certified as an FQHC look-a-like Medi-Cal/Medicare facility.
