ICE officials on Monday waited outside the Santa Barbara County Jail, drawing a large crowd of activists.

The seven masked ICE agents, however, left about 4 p.m., without making an arrest. ICE did not respond to the News-Press’ questions about the circumstances around the situation.

Activists from SB Resiste, a rapid response organization that documents ICE activity, responded to the jail on Calle Real.

Over the Halloween weekend, SB Resiste and 805 UndocuFund documented ICE activity at the county jail and throughout the city.

According to Anthony Rodriguez, rapid response coordinator for 805 UndocuFund, over 300 people have been detained by ICE since the beginning of October.

Rodriguez said it’s the most activity the organization has seen in a single month since Trump’s second term into office.
