The County of Ventura Sustainability Division is inviting eligible homeowners in Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties to participate in the 3C-BEACH (Tri-County Benefits of Electrification for Comfort, and Health) research project.

The project is administered by the California Energy Commission and funded through the Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC), an electricity ratepayer-funded program authorized by the California Public Utilities Commission. The California-funded initiative offers homeowners the opportunity to improve their home’s comfort, indoor air quality, and energy efficiency while contributing to research that will help shape future home improvement programs across California’s Central Coast.

Eligible participants will receive a total of $500 incentive in accordance with project’s participation requirements, along with a free home eligibility assessment, personalized insights about their home’s energy use and indoor air quality, and the opportunity to qualify for no-cost home energy improvements.

Potential home improvements may include:

  • Heat pump heating and cooling systems
  • Heat pump water heaters
  • Electric clothes dryers
  • Improved insulation

Participation begins with a simple online application that takes approximately five minutes to complete. Eligible homeowners will then schedule a free home visit with a trained technician to evaluate their home. Participants who enroll in the program will receive $250 after the installation of monitoring equipment and an additional $250 after final monitoring is completed.

To be eligible, homeowners must:

  • Own and occupy a single-family home in Ventura, Santa Barbara, or San Luis Obispo County.
  • Have access to their previous 12 months of household utility bills.
  • Plan to remain in the home for at least two years, with no major renovations planned.

Enrollment is limited, and interested participants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. The 3C-BEACH project is a California-funded research initiative administered by the County of Ventura. Participation is completely voluntary, with no sales presentations and no obligation to purchase any products or services.
